Ogun Releases Another Batch of Non-Statutory Board Appointments.

The Ogun State Government has released the names of additional non-statutory members appointed by Governor Dapo Abiodun to run four agencies of government. The agencies are Gateway Trading Company, Food Crops Marketing Board, Ogun State Parks and Gardens, and Ogun State Signage and Advertising Agency. The appointments are the second to be made by the governor, after the Ogun Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), Ogun State Agricultural and Multipurpose Credit Agency (OSAMCA), Plantgate Limited, and the Ogun State Alternative Medicine Board (OGAMB). Yomi Odunowo is to head the board of Gateway Trading Company as chairman. Other members are Elder Tajudeen Alao, Chief Dele Oderinde, Mr. Vittu Tagbe Mechack, Disu Azeez, and Adeleye Olugbenga. The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) convened an extended state executive meeting on August 21, 2024, at the union's state secretariat in Adatan. The meeting was attended by all members of the union's state executives, as well as branch and unit chairmen. During the gathering, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, the union's Vice Chairman, provided an update on recent developments within AMORAN. This meeting marked the first extended state executive meeting since Otunba Taofeek Sokoya's emergence as the new State Chairman. Ogun Joins Rice-Producing States as Abiodun Flags Off Harvest of 200-Hectare Plantation

Ogun State has joined the league of rice-producing states in the country with the flagging off of the harvest of 200 hectares of farmland at Magboro Rice Farm in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state. The farm is the brainchild of the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project, supported by the World Bank  and aimed at driving economic growth and development in the state. ...says Olokola Deep Sea Port, LNG Project Coming Soon Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday said the location of the proposed Zonal Office and Training School of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport would serve as an avenue to improve the status of the state as the industrial hub of the nation. The project, he added, would  also help the proposed Kajola Inland Dry Port and the Olokola Seaport, which he said would soon come on stream, just as the federal government is planning the resuscitation of a Liquefied Natural Gas Project in the area. Governor Abiodun disclosed this when he and the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Mr. Adewale Adeniyi, visited the site of the Nigeria Customs Service's proposed Zonal Office/Training School in Ilisan, Ikenne Local Government Area.
