IPERU INDIGENES FORUM FELICITATES GOV. ABIODUN ON 64TH BIRTHDAY, COMMENDS HIM FOR ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE

The Iperu Indigenes Forum has sent the warmest birthday felicitations to the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, CON, on his 64th birthday anniversary, which was held yesterday, 29th May, 2024. The forum in its congratulatory message, jointly signed by the Convener, Prince Ladi OLABINJO; and administrators, High Chief Barr. Ifasola Saheed OPEODU, the Oluwo of IPERU; Otunba Adebayo SALAMI; and Tope OYEKAN; felicitates the governor on his birthday, and also congratulated him on the first year anniversary of his second term of office. The forum also goes further to commend and appreciate him on the newly-constructed Sagamu-Iperu-Ode road, which had its first and second phase commissioned yesterday at Iperu. Gov. ABIODUN's announcement of the award of contract for the reconstruction of the Siun-Ogere-Iperu-Ilisan Road was also applauded, as he was urged to consider the construction of more quality intra-city roads that will aid local transportation

By: Tope OYEKAN Otunba Taiwo Abdulrasaq OYEBANJO, CEO, Avalon Hotel and Suites, Iperu, has been elected the President, Iperu Development Association, in the election of the association, held on Saturday 25th May, 2024.  He was declared elected unopposed by the Chairman, Iperu Development Association Electoral Committee, Mr. Sakiru SODIPO, at the Iperu Development Association Plaza, Atenda, Iperu, venue of the exercise, yesterday. The newly-elected President, who is the current Vice Chairman of the association will succeed the incumbent and outgoing Chairman, Chief Babajide OYETI. In recent times, Ijebu Igbo has been plagued by an alarming rise in misconduct by TRACE (Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps) officers. Reports have surfaced detailing how these officers, who are meant to uphold traffic laws and ensure the safety of the public, have instead turned into predators, exploiting their positions for personal gain. Their collusion with area thugs to extort money from commercial motorcycle riders, commonly known as “okada riders,” is particularly concerning. Numerous eyewitness accounts and victim testimonies reveal a pattern of systemic abuse. TRACE officers, under the guise of enforcing traffic regulations, target okada riders with relentless harassment. The Federal Government has approved January, 2025, as the official date for the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival, tagged, “Gateway Games, Ogun 2024”. In a communique released after the first National Council on Sports, at the Old Government Lodge, Abakaliki Road, Enugu State, the Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Enoh, commended Ogun State Government for its commitment to the successful hosting of the festival. Sen.
