Police arrest two robbery suspects in Ogun

Ajoint security patrol has arrested two suspected robbers in the Oke Ejigbo area of Ogun state. The suspects, Kolawole Shobowale, and Moruf Soyoye were apprehended around 6:30 am, by policemen and officials of the So-Safe Corps, following incessant complaints about the burglary at people’s shops and homes. A statement by the Ogun state police command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola, said the suspects confessed to have burgled residences in the neighbourhood before they were seen by the So-Safe Commander patrolling the area. She said the suspects confessed that three of them were seen but one was able to escape. Odutola said: “One escaped, one was seen moving with blood stains on his legs while carrying a live Turkey. The SO SAFE team trailed them to their houses and cordoned off the house, leading to the arrest of the above suspects. Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has declared Monday, 21st August 2023 as public holiday to commemorate the annual Isese Day. Isese Day is set aside by traditional religious worshippers to celebrate Yoruba culture and tradition. Governor Abiodun, on 7th, March, 2023 issued an executive order, declaring August 20 of every year as Isese Day in Ogun State. The state House of Assembly, on July 11, gave legal backing to the executive order. Governor Abiodun, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Lekan Adeniran on Saturday, praised the existing harmony among the adherents of all religions in the Gateway State. Detained NURTW President regains freedom, sues for peace

The President of National Union Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Prof. Tajudeen Baruwa, has regained his freedom from police detention .He cautioned members of the union against making inflammatory statements that could undermine its stability. The advice came against the backdrop of the misunderstanding within the union, which led to the deployment of police to ‘safeguard’ its secretariat. OGUN AMORAN DEPUTY CHAIRMAN LED TASK FORCE TEAM TO SAGAMU LOCAL GOVERNMENT

The Ogun Amoran Task Force team ably led by the State Deputy Chairman of the union, Comrade Kazeem Lawal and other members of the team, were in Sagamu Local Government Area for a one week monitoring and assessment process on the activities of the commercial motorcycle riders.  Comrade Lawal who spoke with the Amoran Media correspondent  in Sagamu, expressed his views on the outcome of the exercise and stated that all observations and recommendations by the task force team will be forwarded to the State Executive Council of the Union for further resolutions and ratification.
