Factional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Mr Rasaq Salinsile, has declined the appointment given to him by the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, citing personal reasons. Salinsile had led the faction of Osun APC loyal to the ex-governor Rauf Aregbesola, and mounted a fierce opposition to ex-governor Adegboyega Oyetola, running on the platform of APC, from getting a second term in office in July 16, 2022 governorship poll, at the peak of the intra-party crises that ravaged the APC. Salinsile had been listed as the Chairman of the Teaching Service Commission by Adeleke last week Thursday. Although Salinsile did not openly reject the appointment immediately after his name was announced, it was learnt that he contacted the governor thereafter and declined the offer. At the swearing-in of the chairmen of boards on Wednesday, Salinsile was noticeably missing and in another list released by the government, his name had been replaced with that of Tope M...

The Management of Dangote Refinery has debunked a report published on the online platforms of some media organisations that the company employed 11,000 skilled workers from India, while allegedly neglecting youths from Nigeria and other African countries. Reacting to the publications, the Group’s Chief Branding & Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, said the report was written with malicious intent, as it did not reflect the number of skilled Nigerians on site. He said, the magnitude of the project required a specialised skilled workforce from all over the world, and that while over 30,000 Nigerians were engaged among the skilled workforce, at the peak of construction in the Refinery complex, 6,400 Indians and 3,250 Chinese workers were among the skilled workforces. He also said Nigerians on the project demonstrated a high level of technical competence as many hidden skills were discovered among them. Chiejina advised the public to discountenance such malicious and...
