OGUN STATE:Abiodun Thumbs Up Police On Security In Ogun

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has commended the Nigeria Police Force for its efforts at securing lives and properties in the state. Abiodun gave the commendation on Tuesday when he received the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of the South West region, Mr. Abiodun Alabi, who was in his office on a courtesy call. He said police personnel in the state have been up and doing in the discharge of their constitutional roles in collaboration with other sister agencies. Prince Abiodun: "We have enjoyed the cooperation of the police. Their collaboration with other security agencies like the Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) and of course our Amotekun has led to the peaceful atmosphere that we enjoy and this has also encouraged investors to come and do business in our state." Also to be set up is a Joint Anti-Cultism Security Task Force comprising all major security outfits, with the mandate to rid the state of the menace of cultism. Ogun govt restricts movement in Sagamu

Following recent clashes among rival cult groups in Sagamu, the Ogun State government has announced restriction of movement from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The government, therefore, urged residents of the town to abide by the restriction order pending the time the security of the area will improve, as police and other security agencies are on top of the situation to restore normalcy. This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Lekan Adeniran, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Monday. Police arrest two robbery suspects in Ogun

Ajoint security patrol has arrested two suspected robbers in the Oke Ejigbo area of Ogun state. The suspects, Kolawole Shobowale, and Moruf Soyoye were apprehended around 6:30 am, by policemen and officials of the So-Safe Corps, following incessant complaints about the burglary at people’s shops and homes. A statement by the Ogun state police command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola, said the suspects confessed to have burgled residences in the neighbourhood before they were seen by the So-Safe Commander patrolling the area. She said the suspects confessed that three of them were seen but one was able to escape. Odutola said: “One escaped, one was seen moving with blood stains on his legs while carrying a live Turkey. The SO SAFE team trailed them to their houses and cordoned off the house, leading to the arrest of the above suspects.
