The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved an irrigation project for Iperu to ensure an all year round farming and guarantee food security. The project which comprises a dam and a water works will assist farmers in an all year round cultivation of crops that will guarantee a regular supply of cheap and affordable food items, and provision of potable water to the people of Iperu and its environs. Ogun Releases Another Batch of Non-Statutory Board Appointments.

The Ogun State Government has released the names of additional non-statutory members appointed by Governor Dapo Abiodun to run four agencies of government. The agencies are Gateway Trading Company, Food Crops Marketing Board, Ogun State Parks and Gardens, and Ogun State Signage and Advertising Agency. The appointments are the second to be made by the governor, after the Ogun Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), Ogun State Agricultural and Multipurpose Credit Agency (OSAMCA), Plantgate Limited, and the Ogun State Alternative Medicine Board (OGAMB). Yomi Odunowo is to head the board of Gateway Trading Company as chairman. Other members are Elder Tajudeen Alao, Chief Dele Oderinde, Mr. Vittu Tagbe Mechack, Disu Azeez, and Adeleye Olugbenga. The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State has officially inaugurated Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman of the union. The inauguration ceremony took place today at the union's state secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The leadership transition duly follows the resignation of the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle. In response, the union's executive members unanimously elected Otunba Sokoya as the new chairman, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organization. The event was marked by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo. Also in attendance were the union’s deputy chairman, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, along with other members of the state executive council.
