RE: OTUNBA NURUDEEN AINA ALOWONLE RESIGNED VOLUNTARILY – AMORAN SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT
The leadership of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, wishes to set the record straight regarding the recent claim by the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle, suggesting that he did not resign but merely took a leave of absence.

We categorically state that Otunba Alowonle voluntarily resigned from his position as Chairman of AMORAN in August 2024 to pursue his lifelong political ambition. His resignation letter, duly signed and addressed to the State Executive Council, was officially received, read and acknowledged by the leadership of the union. Following this, the executive members unanimously elected Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman, in line with the Union's constitutional provisions.

It is, therefore, misleading and inaccurate for Otunba Alowonle to now claim otherwise. The process that led to his exit and the subsequent election of a new chairman was transparent, legitimate and in accordance with the union’s guidelines.

Our great union remains committed to upholding order, stability and the welfare of its members. We urge the public, our stakeholders and relevant authorities to disregard any misinformation regarding this matter, as the records clearly show that Otunba Alowonle resigned of his own free will.

While we have received the summons from the court regarding this matter, AMORAN is fully prepared to approach the court with verifiable evidence confirming the resignation of the former chairman. We remain confident that the truth will prevail, and justice will be served in the interest of transparency.
