We categorically state that Otunba Alowonle voluntarily resigned from his position as Chairman of AMORAN in August 2024 to pursue his lifelong political ambition. His resignation letter, duly signed and addressed to the State Executive Council, was officially received, read and acknowledged by the leadership of the union. The Alaperu’s passing has continued to generate an outpouring of grief from various quarters, with leaders across different sectors paying tribute to his impactful reign.  The leadership of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) has also expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Alaperu of Iperu-Remo, Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo, describing his demise as a great loss to Ogun State and the traditional institution.
