OPP Convener Faith Daniel Commends OGSIEC, Ogun Government on Successful LG Poll, Congratulates Newly Elected Chairmen

The Convener and Director General of Ogun Progressive People (OPP), Olola Faith Daniel, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and all the elected local government chairmen on their victory in the recently concluded local government elections.  

In a press statement released Monday, a day after the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) Chairman, Babatunde Osibodu, announced the results in Abeokuta, Faith Daniel commended the transparency and peaceful conduct of the election from all indications.  

The APC achieved a clean sweep, winning all 20 local government chairmanship positions and all 236 councillorship seats in the elections held on Saturday. The results, announced by OGSIEC, showed participation from 19 political parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party.  

Faith Daniel lauded OGSIEC for organizing a free, fair, and peaceful election. He emphasized that the overwhelming support for APC candidates across the state reflected the people's confidence and satisfaction with the performance of the APC-led administration under the leadership of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun.  

He urged the newly elected chairmen and councillors to prioritize collaborative efforts to drive development in their respective local government areas, further improve the welfare of the citizens, and promote the APC-led administration’s policies from the national, state, and local government levels to help achieve the renewed hope of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.  

Advising the new officials, Faith Daniel remarked, “With stakes high, APC's steadfast commitment to progress, equity, integrity, and community-centered leadership stands as a defining force for Ogun State. The people of Ogun have voted for leaders who possess the vision, expertise, and dedication to bring effective governance to every corner of our communities. OPP remains united in supporting leaders ready to serve with excellence, equity, and integrity."

He further expressed confidence in the ability of the new leaders to build on past achievements, adopt new ideas that will address pressing issues, and deliver equitable and impactful services to the people. Highlighting APC's dedication to progress, he noted the party's track record of overcoming challenges with resilience and its commitment to uplifting every community.  

“From infrastructure improvement to advancements in health, education, and economic development, APC’s servant leaders have consistently demonstrated their devotion to service," Faith Daniel added.  

In closing, Faith Daniel prayed for divine wisdom and strength for the new officers to excel in their roles and fulfill the expectations of the citizens.
