LG POLLS: AMORAN Chairman Taofeek Sokoya Congratulates Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate, Other Newly Elected Chairmen, Councillors In Ogun
The Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun state, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, has extended warm congratulations to Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate for Sagamu Local Government and all other Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates of the party who emerged victorious in the Ogun State local government elections held on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
Otunba Sokoya hailed the remarkable success of APC in clinching all 20 Chairmanship seats and the 236 Councillorship seats across the state, attributing the landslide victory to the giant strides and developmental efforts of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun CON.
In a statement released on Monday, Sokoya commended the governor for his visionary leadership, which he said had positively transformed Ogun State and earned the trust of the electorates. He noted that the achievements of the Abiodun-led administration, particularly in infrastructure, education, healthcare and youth empowerment, had paved the way for the overwhelming support & votes for APC candidates at the polls.
“The victory of our party in the just-concluded local government elections is a testament to the outstanding governance of our leader, His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun. His commitment to the growth and progress of Ogun State has endeared our party to the people. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Chairman-elect in Sagamu local government; Ogbeni Afolabi Odulate and all other winners for their well-deserved success,” Sokoya said.
He also lauded the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) for conducting a peaceful, free and fair election, which he described as a reflection of the state’s commitment to democracy and good governance. Sokoya expressed optimism that the newly elected local government Chairmen would emulate the governor's achievements by delivering on their campaign promises and ensuring grassroots development.
Otunba Sokoya urged all Chairmen-elect to see their victory as a call to service and to remain committed to the welfare of the people, emphasizing that the mandate given to them must translate into impactful governance for the people in their various communities.
