History Made As AMORAN Chair Taofeek Sokoya Empowers Former Chiarmen Of The Union
The Chairman of the Articulated Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has initiated a groundbreaking effort to engage and empower former chairmen of the union. This, he kick started with a significant gesture of support by reaching out to his predecessors, offering them a sense of belonging within the union.
The historic meeting, held at the Union's state secretariat in Abeokuta on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024, saw the attendance of Alhaji Azeez Olawale, known as "WILLYKAY", a former chairman of the union, who represented other past chairmen. In his address, Alhaji Olawale praised Otunba Sokoya for the innovative initiative, describing it as the first of its kind in the history of the union.
During the meeting, Otunba Sokoya emphasized that the initiative aims to promote the welfare of all former chairmen, ensuring they remain an integral part of the union. He also announced the union’s decision to allocate a substantial monthly stipend to support former chairmen, a move that was met with heartfelt appreciation.
Alhaji Olawale, visibly moved by the gesture, expressed his profound gratitude on behalf of himself and the other former chairmen who were unable to attend. In an emotional statement, he said, "Words really fail me, and I can't find the right words to appreciate this rare gesture. In my entire life, I have never witnessed such. I want to say a very big thank you to our amiable Chairman, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, and all other executive members for deeming it fit to put smiles on the faces of we former chairmen. This is a lifetime favor and we will forever be grateful."
He further lauded Otunba Sokoya for his leadership and generosity, which have been widely acknowledged by many within and outside the union, urging him to continue his good works. Olawale also offered prayers, asking for continued blessings and rewards for the chairman and his executive team.
Otunba Sokoya’s initiative marks a turning point in AMORAN's leadership, fostering a sense of unity and ensuring that past chairmen of the union are honored for their contributions to the growth of the union.
