AMORAN Congratulates Nigerians on 64th Independence Anniversary

The leadership of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) has congratulated Nigerians on the celebration of the nation’s 64th independence anniversary. In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, the union expressed pride in the critical role motorcycle operators play in Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape.

Otunba Sokoya emphasized that the transportation sector, particularly motorcycle operations, remains a vital contributor to Nigeria's economy, providing employment and serving as a key mode of transportation in many parts of the country. He further reaffirmed AMORAN’s commitment to ensuring safety, reliability and accessibility in its services across the gateway state.

He further pledged support for government initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, enhancing security and fostering an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. In his statement, Otunba Sokoya urged Nigerians to remain united and resilient, stressing that the nation's strength lies in its diversity.

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.  During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.
