IPERU EDUCATION MANAGEMENT BOARD TO DISTRIBUTE LEARNING AID TO STUDENTS ON THURSDAY

 Sets to celebrate first anniversar

The Iperu Remo Education Trust Scheme Management Board will on Thursday, 19th September, 2024, distribute learning aid to all the students of primary and secondary schools, and Social Development Institute, Iperu.

The event which is slated to hold at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu Remo, by 11 am will have the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Ogun State, Prof. Abayomi ARIGBABU; and the Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin MADEIN as Special Guests of Honour; while the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs. Ronke SOYOMBO; and President, Iperu Development Association, Otunba Taiwo OYEBANJO, are Guests of Honour.

The Lead Royal Father of the Day is the Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa, Oba Adeleke Adelekan IDOWU-BASIBO (Odoru V), FIEX, FICMC; 

According to the Chairman of the Iperu Remo Education Trust Scheme Management Board, Mofopefoluwa JOSEPH, FRM, who also doubles as the Chief Host, the distribution of 30,000 free exercise books to the pupils and students, is one of the intervention programmes of the board to support the learners in their educational pursuit, in line with the board's mission of creating a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous society, with the aim of eradicating poverty in the community.

He highlighted other interventions carried out by the board recently, which includes the Free Students Enrolment into Primary Schools; Holiday Coaching for Primary School Pupils; Scholarship for Primary Six Pupils; and Back to School Support for Students.

The board inaugurated by the Alaperu on the 24th of November 2023 under the leadership of the education enthusiast JOSEPH, has grown in leaps and bounds, through its various laudable and people-oriented programmes, which had in no small way complemented the efforts of the government in the education sector, and it gladdens to state that in recognition of this, key stakeholders in the education sector have recommended the board as a template and model for adoption and emulation by other Remo towns and communities.

Meanwhile, the board is planning to celebrate its one year of existence with an Anniversary and Special Awards Ceremony holding on the 24th of November, 2024.
Plans to have a well-organized event is underway as the committee led by Prince Gboyega AKINYEMI is working spiritedly in this regard.

This was contained in the monthly report of activities for August 2024 released by the Chairman, which indicates that fifteen deserving personalities have been picked as award recipients during the event slated to hold at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu Remo.

The Chicago State University (CSU) has responded to the request by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in line with an Illinois, United States (U.S.) court order. In its response, the CSU insisted that it does not keep copies of diploma certificates issued to students. It also confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu graduated from the school in 1979. The CSU said Tinubu graduated in 1979 with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. It, however, said that after diligent search it was able to find some but not give the names because of privacy concerns. It further said that it could not find that of Tinubu which Atiku claimed was presented by the president to INEC. The university said it found some diploma certificates with the same font as the one being queried by Atiku.

AMORAN Inaugurates Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as New State Chairman In Ogun

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State has officially inaugurated Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman of the union. The inauguration ceremony took place today at the union's state secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The leadership transition duly follows the resignation of the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle. In response, the union's executive members unanimously elected Otunba Sokoya as the new chairman, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organization. The event was marked by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo. Also in attendance were the union’s deputy chairman, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, along with other members of the state executive council.

Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Takes Helm as AMORAN Chairman Following Unanimous Vote

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.  During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.
