Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Takes Helm as AMORAN Chairman Following Unanimous Vote

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.

During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.

Recognizing the importance of maintaining strong leadership, the state executives swiftly deliberated on the succession. The consensus was clear: Otunba Taofeek Sokoya was elected unanimously as the new Chairman.

In his acceptance speech, Otunba Sokoya conveyed his heartfelt thanks to the executive members for their trust and confidence. He pledged to uphold the responsibilities of the position and to lead the union with integrity and dedication.

An executive member, when interviewed, praised Otunba Sokoya's significant contributions to the union's progress. He highlighted Sokoya's strategic insights and exceptional leadership skills as key factors in his unanimous selection as chairman.
