AMORAN Holds Executive Meeting, Launches Distribution of DA E-Bike

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) convened an extended state executive meeting on August 21, 2024, at the union's state secretariat in Adatan. The meeting was attended by all members of the union's state executives, as well as branch and unit chairmen.

During the gathering, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, the union's Vice Chairman, provided an update on recent developments within AMORAN. This meeting marked the first extended state executive meeting since Otunba Taofeek Sokoya's emergence as the new State Chairman.

Mr. Lawal revealed that the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle, had informed the union's leadership of his decision to resign in order to pursue the executive chairmanship position of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Given the importance of this position, the union's executives unanimously elected Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (also known as Danku) as the new Chairman. The announcement was met with enthusiastic approval from the union members.

In his address, Otunba Sokoya expressed his gratitude for the support he has received from the union members and pledged to continue advancing the union’s interests. He also announced the commencement of the distribution of the DAE-bike, a recent initiative by Governor Dapo Abiodun, which was aimed at supporting motorcycle riders in the state.

A total of 25 beneficiaries received the e-bikes during the meeting. Sokoya urged the recipients to ensure proper maintenance of the motorcycles, highlighting the significance of this distribution as a first-of-its-kind initiative within the union.
