Sagamu Youth Association Executive Council Dissolved, Transition/ Constitution Review Committee Appointed

It is pertinent to place on record that Sagamu Youth Association is a structural organization with different working organs. One of these organs is the Board of Trustee ( BoT ), which is the conscience of the organization.

However, we the members of the BoT hereby congratulate all the members of the executive council led by Comr. Sikiru Segun (Success), for the successful completion of their administration which started in March 2021.

In the same vein, we sincerely appreciate them for their selfless service to the community. They have consolidated on the gains and achievements of the previous administrations. 

In the course of discharging their duties, they never engaged in any act capable of bringing disrepute to the image of the Association. Hence, their administration was not without some challenges ( as there's no perfect system in the world ), but we are grateful to God Almighty, for they were able to navigate through and at same time recorded some achievements.

Special appreciation also goes to the team leader, Comrade Sikiru Segun (Success), for his leadership prowess, commitment, doggedness and selfless service to community and humanity. You shall forever remain a force to reckon with in the League of SYA leadership.

However, sequel to the directives and responsibilities given by the Akarigbo of Remo land, HRM, Oba (Barr.) Babatunde Ajayi ILUFEMILOYE 1, to the SYA BoT and Stakeholders, that there should be an harmonisation among all the waring youth groups  in Sagamu, into one formidable entity under the umbrella of Sagamu Youth Association ,  AND couple with the fundamental fact that the tenure of the present executive council of SYA has since lapsed, We, the BoT members of SYA, as backed by the constitutional provisions, hereby pronounce the official dissolution of the executive council with immediate effect.

This  pronouncement is made to allow peace , fairness and patriotism to play out in the ongoing process of harmonization.

Furthermore, in order not to subject the association to vacuum of leadership, we therefore announce the constitution of the following members to serve as the Transition / Constitution Review Committee for a period of thirty days ( 30 days), after which an harmonized executive council shall emerge:

2.  Com. Ogunkoya Henry....Member
3.  Com. Olumide Oluwasogo...Member
4.   Com. Ogundunmiye Bukonla Adebayo......Secretary
5.   Com. Abimbola Adesanya...Member

7.  Com. Akande Ifedayo...Member

Their letter of appointment and terms of reference shall be given to them in due course.


We therefore assure  every concerned Sagamite that in no distant time, the SYA Stakeholders shall come up with a formidable and resourceful team of harmonised youth leadership that we  will all be proud of .

Sagamu shall continue to be a prosperous land.

The Chicago State University (CSU) has responded to the request by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in line with an Illinois, United States (U.S.) court order. In its response, the CSU insisted that it does not keep copies of diploma certificates issued to students. It also confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu graduated from the school in 1979. The CSU said Tinubu graduated in 1979 with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. It, however, said that after diligent search it was able to find some but not give the names because of privacy concerns. It further said that it could not find that of Tinubu which Atiku claimed was presented by the president to INEC. The university said it found some diploma certificates with the same font as the one being queried by Atiku.

AMORAN Inaugurates Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as New State Chairman In Ogun

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State has officially inaugurated Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman of the union. The inauguration ceremony took place today at the union's state secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The leadership transition duly follows the resignation of the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle. In response, the union's executive members unanimously elected Otunba Sokoya as the new chairman, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organization. The event was marked by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo. Also in attendance were the union’s deputy chairman, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, along with other members of the state executive council.

Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Takes Helm as AMORAN Chairman Following Unanimous Vote

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.  During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.
