ALAPERU COMMENDS OJUDE OBA IPERU PLANNING COMMITTEE

The Alaperu of Iperu Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria, His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adelekan IDOWU-BASIBO (Odoru V), FIEX, FICMC, has commended the 2024 Ojude Oba Iperu Planning committee for its effort at organizing a successful Ojude Oba festival in the town last tuesday.

The royal father gave the commendation during a Thank You Visit of the Chairman of the 2024 Ojude Oba Iperu Planning Committee, Otunba Taiwo OYEBANJO to him in his palace on Monday, 24th June, 2024.

The Chairman of the committee who was at the palace to express the committee's immense appreciation to the Alaperu for his immeasurable support to the committee, which contributed in no small way to the success of the most-talked about event, was well received by the royal father.

Oba IDOWU-BASIBO who commended and thanked the committee for its relentless effort in resuscitating and reviving the age-long event that was last celebrated in the town thirty years ago, also prayed for more elaborate and joyous celebrations.
He further directed that a committee should  be formed earnestly to conduct a search for land in compliance with the request of Dr. Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, the Chairperson of the Ojude Oba Celebration, and the Accountant General of the Federation, who had pledged at the event to facilitate the construction of a mini stadium for Iperu.

Responding, the Chairman expressed gratitude to the Alaperu for the warm reception and assured him of a timely implementation of his directive regarding the constitution of a committee for land search.

In attendance during the visit was the Onimeji of Imeji, His Royal Highness Oba Babatunde Kayode OLAYEBO OREMULE-SODA (Gbadewolu I).

CSU confirms Tinubu graduated from school in 1979

The Chicago State University (CSU) has responded to the request by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in line with an Illinois, United States (U.S.) court order. In its response, the CSU insisted that it does not keep copies of diploma certificates issued to students. It also confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu graduated from the school in 1979. The CSU said Tinubu graduated in 1979 with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. It, however, said that after diligent search it was able to find some but not give the names because of privacy concerns. It further said that it could not find that of Tinubu which Atiku claimed was presented by the president to INEC. The university said it found some diploma certificates with the same font as the one being queried by Atiku.

AMORAN Inaugurates Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as New State Chairman In Ogun

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State has officially inaugurated Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman of the union. The inauguration ceremony took place today at the union's state secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The leadership transition duly follows the resignation of the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle. In response, the union's executive members unanimously elected Otunba Sokoya as the new chairman, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organization. The event was marked by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo. Also in attendance were the union’s deputy chairman, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, along with other members of the state executive council.

Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Takes Helm as AMORAN Chairman Following Unanimous Vote

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.  During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.
