OJUDE OBA IPERU PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETS ALAPERU AND ROYAL FATHERS IN IPERU, PRESENTS AN UPDATE AND SEEK FURTHER SUPPORT FOR THE EVENT

The Ojude Oba Iperu Planning Committee, on monday, met with the Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adelekan IDOWU-BASIBO (Odoru V), FIEX, FICMC, and all the Royal Fathers in Iperu, to brief them on the efforts and preparation of the committee towards the forthcoming Ojude Oba slated to hold in June 2024, precisely on the third day of Ileya celebration. 


The meeting which was held at the conference room of the palace of the Alaperu, had in attendance, the Ebi of Idena, Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Lukman Oluwadamilare Adebambo SALAMI, (Sebu II); the Onimeji of Imeji, Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Kayode OLAYEBO OREMULE-SODA (Gbadewolu I); the Alagbehinsha of Agbehinsha, Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Isiaka Adekanmi OGUNNAIKE (Odumowu I); and the  Alaregun of Iregun, Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Abraham Adedoyin OGUNFOWORA (Ewu Nla I).


Leading the committee was the Chairman, Otunba Taiwo OYEBANJO, who presented an update on the activities of the committee so far, and further sought the cooperation and support of the royal fathers.

The Alaperu commended the committee for its efforts at organizing a memorable Ojude Oba celebration, just as he directed that all the leadership of Central and Ratibi Mosques should be invited to the occasion.


He hinted that arrangements are ongoing for the provision of a tight security that will ensure the safety of lives and properties, within and around the town, and call on all sons and daughters of Iperu both at home, and in the diaspora, to be a part of the celebration, 


High-point of discussion at the meeting centred on the venue, as the Alaperu and all the Royal Fathers, with the committee, jointly agreed that the morning session shall hold at the Alaperu palace followed by the reception and social get-together at the Oja Ale Square.


While appreciating the committee on behalf of the Alaperu and the monarchs, the Ebi of Idena, Oba Lukman Adebambo SALAMI, thanked the committee for the visit, as he called for a continued synergy between the committee and the Royal Fathers.


The Vice Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Denny OLADIPUPO; Secretary, Alhaji Shittu Babatunde OMISANYA; Treasurer, Alhaja Bola OGUNLAJA; Director of Contacts and Mobilization, Prince Adedoyin ADESINA; and Director of Welfare, Alhaji Abiodun SOSINMI, also attended the meeting.

The Chicago State University (CSU) has responded to the request by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in line with an Illinois, United States (U.S.) court order. In its response, the CSU insisted that it does not keep copies of diploma certificates issued to students. It also confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu graduated from the school in 1979. The CSU said Tinubu graduated in 1979 with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. It, however, said that after diligent search it was able to find some but not give the names because of privacy concerns. It further said that it could not find that of Tinubu which Atiku claimed was presented by the president to INEC. The university said it found some diploma certificates with the same font as the one being queried by Atiku.

AMORAN Inaugurates Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as New State Chairman In Ogun

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State has officially inaugurated Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman of the union. The inauguration ceremony took place today at the union's state secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The leadership transition duly follows the resignation of the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle. In response, the union's executive members unanimously elected Otunba Sokoya as the new chairman, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organization. The event was marked by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo. Also in attendance were the union’s deputy chairman, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, along with other members of the state executive council.

Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Takes Helm as AMORAN Chairman Following Unanimous Vote

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.  During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.
