ELECTION 2024: IPERU DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION APPOINTS SAKIRU SODIPO AS CHAIRMAN ELECTORAL COMMITTEE - Committee's Inauguration Holds Tomorrow, Sunday, 14th April, 2024

The Iperu Development Association has appointed Mr. Sakiru SODIPO as Chairman of the IDA 2024 Electoral Committee, saddled with the responsibility of conducting election into the various offices of the IDA executive.


His appointment was contained in a letter dated 1st April, 2024, and signed by the Assistant General Secretary of the Association, Barr. Wasiu ONAWOLE.


SODIPO, a Social Welfare Professional and Community Development Practitioner is the Director of Community and Social Development at Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State.


Also appointed to serve on the committee alongside the Chairman, are Mrs. Iyabo JOLAOSO-AJAYI as Secretary, and Otunba Adebayo SALAMI as Member.


The Electoral Committee will be inaugurated tomorrow, Sunday, 14th April 2024, at the IDA Plaza, Atenda, Iperu, by 3pm, while the election holds on the 1st of May, 2024 at same venue.

CSU confirms Tinubu graduated from school in 1979

The Chicago State University (CSU) has responded to the request by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in line with an Illinois, United States (U.S.) court order. In its response, the CSU insisted that it does not keep copies of diploma certificates issued to students. It also confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu graduated from the school in 1979. The CSU said Tinubu graduated in 1979 with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. It, however, said that after diligent search it was able to find some but not give the names because of privacy concerns. It further said that it could not find that of Tinubu which Atiku claimed was presented by the president to INEC. The university said it found some diploma certificates with the same font as the one being queried by Atiku.

AMORAN Inaugurates Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as New State Chairman In Ogun

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State has officially inaugurated Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman of the union. The inauguration ceremony took place today at the union's state secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The leadership transition duly follows the resignation of the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle. In response, the union's executive members unanimously elected Otunba Sokoya as the new chairman, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organization. The event was marked by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo. Also in attendance were the union’s deputy chairman, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, along with other members of the state executive council.

Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Takes Helm as AMORAN Chairman Following Unanimous Vote

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.  During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.
