-Tope OYEKAN The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, MFR, has appointed Prince Adebola Adeniyi BASIBO-ODORU, son of the Alaperu of Iperu, as a Special Assistant. This was captured in a 96-page document produced by the board, christened - " First Chronicles of Birth and Activities" which was presented to the Iperu Development Association at the association's first quarterly meeting, held on Sunday, 24th March, 2024, at the IDA Plaza, Iperu Remo. In response to the unjust levy affecting Mowe Market traders, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, as well as the local government authorities in Obafemi Owode and all stakeholders involved. Under the leadership of Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle, we commend the swift and decisive action taken to address the unjust burden imposed by unscrupulous individuals exploiting the guise of governmental authority. The recent outcry from our traders prompted a plea to the state government for urgent intervention regarding the exorbitant levy imposed. -Tope OYEKAN Egbe Degbuyi Remo, the foremost socio-cultural age-grade group in Remoland has inducted fourteen new members into the group, bringing its total membership strength to fifty. The new inductees whose membership cuts across the Remo towns were inducted virtually on zoom, on Sunday, 17th March, 2024. Their induction was consequent upon a very rigorous and painstaking admission and screening process and procedures anchored by the Admissions and Screening Committee, led by Gbuyi Dr. Olajuwon Ariyo ABIJO. Traders at Mowe Market in the Obafemi Owode Local Government of Ogun State are rallying against unjust levies imposed on them, urging the Ogun State Government to intervene and protect their commercial interests. Led by the Babaloja of the market, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle, the traders voiced their concerns during a peaceful protest within the market premises in Mowe. Mowe Market serves as a vital hub for commerce in the Obafemi Owode Local Government area, sustaining numerous petty traders who rely on it for their livelihoods.
