IPERU REMO EDUCATION TRUST SCHEME MANAGEMENT BOARD HOLDS SENSITIZATION TALK ON JANUARY 24

A sensitization talk on education is scheduled to hold at Iperu Remo on Wednesday, 24th January, 2024.

The event organised by the Iperu Remo Education Trust Scheme Management Board, shall hold at the Akesan Iperu Club 1954 Hall, Iperu, commencing from 11am.

The sensitization talk, which has as its theme: "Education is a Key to Success", is the second in the series, organised by the board to reawaken the minds of all stakeholders in Iperu, on the challenges confronting education in our society.

Keynote Speaker is Mr. Tutu BURAIMO, FCA, former Managing Director, CarnaudMetal Box Toyo Glass PLC., while Guest Speaker is Professor Abayomi ARIGBABU, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Ogun State.
Royal Father of the Day is the Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa, Oba Adeleke Adelekan IDOWU-BASIBO (Odoru V), FIEX, FICMC.
Also expected at the event is the Special Guest of Honour, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, Executive Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, 

The Chairman, Iperu Development Association, Chief Babajide OYETI, shall also be in attendance, while Mofopefoluwa JOSEPH, FRM, Chairman, Iperu Remo Education Trust Scheme Management Board is the Chief Host.

The Iperu Remo Education Trust Scheme Management Board, an initiative of the Iperu Development Association, was inaugurated by the Alaperu on the 24th November, 2023, and the board has since its inception embarked on activities aimed at positively changing the narratives of this key and very important sector in Iperu.

The board has organized the maiden edition of the talkshow, with the theme, "Education As A Means To Eradicate Poverty", which held on 13th December, 2023.
It also constituted a Schools Liaison Teams for all the public educational concerns in Iperu; and organised an induction training for all the Team Leaders and Members of the  Liaison Teams on 20th December, 2023.

The board had equally rolled out its action plans for the new year, with a budget size of #208,000,000.00, which include among others, sensitization talks, meeting with socio-economic structures in the town, Infrastructural upgrades in schools, awards and scholarships to students, excursion for students and teachers, retraining of teachers, provision of teaching and learning aids to schools, purchase of school buses, provision of uniforms, books, and bags for students, and conferences/lectures/seminars.

The board while calling for the support of all sons and daughters of Iperu on the actualisation of its set goals; also hope to partner and collaborate with national and international organisations donor agencies in this regard.

CSU confirms Tinubu graduated from school in 1979

The Chicago State University (CSU) has responded to the request by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in line with an Illinois, United States (U.S.) court order. In its response, the CSU insisted that it does not keep copies of diploma certificates issued to students. It also confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu graduated from the school in 1979. The CSU said Tinubu graduated in 1979 with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. It, however, said that after diligent search it was able to find some but not give the names because of privacy concerns. It further said that it could not find that of Tinubu which Atiku claimed was presented by the president to INEC. The university said it found some diploma certificates with the same font as the one being queried by Atiku.

AMORAN Inaugurates Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as New State Chairman In Ogun

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State has officially inaugurated Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman of the union. The inauguration ceremony took place today at the union's state secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The leadership transition duly follows the resignation of the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle. In response, the union's executive members unanimously elected Otunba Sokoya as the new chairman, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organization. The event was marked by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo. Also in attendance were the union’s deputy chairman, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, along with other members of the state executive council.

Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Takes Helm as AMORAN Chairman Following Unanimous Vote

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.  During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.
