2024: AMORAN SENDS NEW YEAR MESSAGE OF GREAT POSSIBILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES

The leadership of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) has urged Nigerians to have positive attitude towards the new year, saying every available indices indicates that the country and indeed, Ogun state is on the brink of greatness. 

In a statement by its spokesperson, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku), the union said the prospect of a better nation will be realised if the people cooperate and work together for its betterment. 
 "On behalf of the entire executives of our great Union in Ogun state, I welcome us all to the new year 2024. I am strongly convinced that 2024 would be a year of great significance for us as a people. While celebrating the rare grace and privilege of witnessing the new year, I want to once again pay tribute to the commercial motorcycle riders who lost their lives in the previous year due to accidents. 

"This is to further appeal to our members in Ogun state to always ride safely and stay glued to our weekly safety tips as we welcome the new year. We enjoin them to do away with whatever can put their lives or the lives of their passengers at risk". 

Lastly, it is clear from all indications that the Ogun state and indeed, Nigeria is on the brink of greatness. As a people, let's cooperate and work together with a united purpose, there is no doubt that this will guarantee success not just for now but for the benefit of the future generation of Nigerians'.

The Chicago State University (CSU) has responded to the request by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in line with an Illinois, United States (U.S.) court order. In its response, the CSU insisted that it does not keep copies of diploma certificates issued to students. It also confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu graduated from the school in 1979. The CSU said Tinubu graduated in 1979 with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. It, however, said that after diligent search it was able to find some but not give the names because of privacy concerns. It further said that it could not find that of Tinubu which Atiku claimed was presented by the president to INEC. The university said it found some diploma certificates with the same font as the one being queried by Atiku.

AMORAN Inaugurates Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as New State Chairman In Ogun

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State has officially inaugurated Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman of the union. The inauguration ceremony took place today at the union's state secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The leadership transition duly follows the resignation of the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle. In response, the union's executive members unanimously elected Otunba Sokoya as the new chairman, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organization. The event was marked by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo. Also in attendance were the union’s deputy chairman, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, along with other members of the state executive council.

Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Takes Helm as AMORAN Chairman Following Unanimous Vote

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.  During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.
