GOVERNOR ROTIMI AKEREDOLU'S DEMISE: MY SINCEREST CONDOLENCES.... Otunba Danku

The public relations officer of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria, AMORAN, Ogun state chapter, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, also known as Danku, has expressed his deepest condolences to the family and Government and good people of Ondo state, on the demise of His Excellency, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who died at the early hours of Wednesday 27th December, 2023. 

Otunba Danku, a very close associate and mentee of the Late Governor, described Aketi's death as a great loss, not only to Ondo state but also to the entire nation. This was contained in a condolence memo issued by the Ogun Amoran PRO and part of which reads... "My sincerest condolences to the government and good people of Ondo state on the death of His Excellency, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu (Aketi). He was indeed a great leader, mentor and highly intelligent political icon in Nigeria. It is a great loss no doubt and he will be greatly missed for his uncommon leadership acumen and positive contributions to the development of the nation's sunshine state. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of the great legend, Aketi" 

The Ogun Amoran spokesman also prayed that the almighty God will grant the family and good people of Ondo state, the fortitude, strength and comfort to bear this great loss of an Icon.

The Chicago State University (CSU) has responded to the request by former vice president Atiku Abubakar in line with an Illinois, United States (U.S.) court order. In its response, the CSU insisted that it does not keep copies of diploma certificates issued to students. It also confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu graduated from the school in 1979. The CSU said Tinubu graduated in 1979 with a bachelors degree in Business Administration. It, however, said that after diligent search it was able to find some but not give the names because of privacy concerns. It further said that it could not find that of Tinubu which Atiku claimed was presented by the president to INEC. The university said it found some diploma certificates with the same font as the one being queried by Atiku.

AMORAN Inaugurates Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as New State Chairman In Ogun

The Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) in Ogun State has officially inaugurated Otunba Taofeek Sokoya as the new chairman of the union. The inauguration ceremony took place today at the union's state secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital. The leadership transition duly follows the resignation of the former chairman, Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle. In response, the union's executive members unanimously elected Otunba Sokoya as the new chairman, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organization. The event was marked by the presence of prominent dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Gbenga Dairo. Also in attendance were the union’s deputy chairman, Mr. Kazeem Lawal, along with other members of the state executive council.

Otunba Taofeek Sokoya Takes Helm as AMORAN Chairman Following Unanimous Vote

In what appears as transition of leadership, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya (a.k.a Danku) has been unanimously voted as the new Chairman of the Articulate Motorcycle Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN). This follows the resignation of Otunba Aina Nurudeen Alowonle, who stepped down to pursue his 'lifelong ambition'.  During an emergency meeting held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, the state executives of AMORAN addressed the resignation letter submitted by Otunba Alowonle. In his letter, the outgoing chairman expressed his intent to resign due to his decision to contest for the position of Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government in the upcoming Ogun State local government elections. Otunba Alowonle extended his gratitude to the executive members for their unwavering support during his tenure.
