In the process, guns, cartridges and injurious weapons were recovered from them. Abiodun Congratulates Ododo, Says Victory In Kogi Confirms APC's Dominance

Ogun State Governor and Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the resounding victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday's governorship election in Kogi State as the affirmation of the confidence Nigerians have in the ability of the ruling party to extricate Nigeria from the current economic woes. The APC governorship candidate, Usman Ododo emerged winner of the Kogi governorship election with 446,237 votes to beat Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who polled 259,052 votes to come second. The win followed the earlier one in Imo State, where Governor Hope Uzodinma, also of the APC was declared the winner of Saturday's election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Alhaji Rasak Shotayo, popularly known as Sholebo has been elected as the National President of Motorcycles Operators Union of Nigeria (MOUN). Sholebo emerged the National President of MOUN after the national congress of union, held in Abuja and attended by all the 36 States and zonal Chairmen of MOUN. Sholebo, until his new appointment is the Ogun State Chairman of Ogun State Riders and Owners of Motorcycle Organization (ROMO). Addressing journalists shortly after his election, Sholebo thanked the national body of the union for finding him worthy to elect him as their new national leader. BREAKING: CBN announces final decision on legality of old, new naira notes

Old note and new naira The Central Bank of Nigeria has instructed all its branches nationwide to continue issuing various denominations of both old and redesigned banknotes in ample quantities to deposit money banks. The apex bank disclosed this in a statement signed by its Director, Corporate Communications, Isa AbdulMumin, and posted on its X handle today. This comes in response to reports of cash shortages in major cities, despite earlier assurances from the CBN about sufficient cash availability nationwide. Part of the statement reads, “For the avoidance of doubt, while reiterating that there are sufficient banknotes across the country for all normal economic activity, we wish to state unambiguously that every banknote issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria remains legal tender and should not be rejected by anyone, as stipulated in Section 20(5) of the CBN Act, 2007. “Accordingly, branches of the CBN across the country have been directed to continue to issue different de

A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State, on Monday, granted  singer, Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, known as Sam Larry bail in the sum of N20m with three responsible duties. Naira Marley, Sam Larry and two others were on October 6 arraigned and remanded over their alleged involvement in circumstances surrounding the death of a musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. The magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun told the defendants to submit their  passports and ordered that they are to report weekly to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti. “As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are to surrender their  passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department,” Olatunbosun ruled.   She also warned that no one should contact her directly on the case. “Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings,” she adde
