Sotayo led-ROMO Exco Meet To Improve Okada Riders

Abeokuta- In a bid to enhance the welfare and working conditions of motorcycle riders, commonly known as Okada riders, the Chairman of the Riders and Owners of Motorcycle Organizations in Ogun State, Dr. Sotayo Olusola Rasak, also known as Aka Sholabo, held a crucial meeting with his Deputy Chairman, Power Mark. 

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and implement a new modus operandi that would significantly improve the lives of the Okada riders in the state.

The meeting, which took place at the union's headquarters in the capital city.

Dr. Sotayo Olusola Rasak, a renowned figure in the transportation sector, has been at the forefront of advocating for the rights and welfare of Okada riders in the state.

During the meeting, Dr. Sotayo Olusola Rasak emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to address the challenges faced by Okada riders. 

He stated, "As State Chairman of this union, it is our responsibility to ensure the well-being of our members. We must strive to create an enabling environment that guarantees their safety, financial stability, and access to essential services."

One of the key proposals discussed was the establishment of a welfare fund specifically dedicated to supporting Okada riders in times of need.

 This fund would provide financial assistance to riders during emergencies, such as accidents, health-related issues, and other unforeseen circumstances. Dr. Sotayo Olusola Rasak stressed the importance of contributions from both the riders and the motorcycle organizations to sustain the fund and ensure its effectiveness.

Additionally, the Chairman and Deputy Chairman explored strategies to improve the working conditions of Okada riders.

 They discussed the possibility of collaborating with relevant government agencies and private organizations to provide training programs on road safety, customer service, and basic mechanic skills. The aim is to equip Okada riders with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate safely and professionally, thereby reducing accidents and enhancing their reputation within the community.

He leaders acknowledged the need to engage in constructive dialogue with government authorities to address regulatory challenges faced by Okada riders. They expressed their commitment to fostering a positive relationship with relevant agencies to ensure fair policies, licensing, and regulations that benefit both the riders and the public.

Speaking after the meeting, Dr. Sotayo Olusola Rasak stated, "I am confident that this new modus operandi will revolutionize the welfare of Okada riders in Ogun State. By working together, we can create a safer and more prosperous environment for our members, as well as improve the overall perception of Okada riders within society."

The Chairman and Deputy Chairman urged Okada riders across the state to embrace the proposed changes and actively participate in the initiatives aimed at improving their welfare. They emphasized the importance of unity among the riders and encouraged them to voice their concerns and ideas to further strengthen the union's mission.

As the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Riders and Owners of Motorcycle Organizations in Ogun State embark on this new approach, the hope is that it will pave the way for a brighter future for Okada riders, fostering growth, development, and improved living standards within the motorcycle transportation sector.
